A wall-hung cabinet is the foundation of any washbasin area – fixed to the wall, with no legs and an open top ready for a basin or a countertop. Timber Wood 600 measures 600 mm in width and combines a black carcass with an oak-decor front that closes one roomy drawer.

Hanging the cabinet above the floor changes everyday cleaning: a mop passes underneath the unit, and in a small bathroom the exposed floor makes the room look larger. The standard installation height is one that places the top edge of the basin 85–90 cm above the floor – with this unit (480 mm high) that means hanging the carcass roughly 35–40 cm above the floor, depending on the thickness of the basin you choose.

A single full-width drawer holds more than two smaller ones and does not split the space into awkward corners. Full-extension runners let you pull it all the way out, so you can see what is stored at the back as well. Soft close catches the front just before it shuts and draws it home on its own – the drawer never slams, even if you push it hard.

The cabinet is designed for the Timber Matt Black 800 cabinet basin or for a countertop with a countertop basin. In such a set the trap is usually routed behind the back panel of the drawer, or a space-saving trap is used.

Frequently asked questions

At what height should a bathroom cabinet be hung?

At a height that puts the top edge of the basin 85–90 cm above the floor. From that figure you subtract the height of the basin and of the carcass. For taller households you can go a little higher, for children a little lower.

Can the cabinet be hung on a plasterboard wall?

Yes, but only where the stud frame includes reinforcement – a timber batten or a mounting profile. The board alone, even with expansion plugs, will not carry the weight of the unit together with the basin and water.

Is a basin included?

No. The cabinet is sold separately, which lets you match it with a cabinet basin or with a countertop and a countertop basin.

What is a full-extension drawer runner?

It is a runner that pulls the drawer out along its entire depth. With a partial-extension runner the last ten-odd centimetres stay inside the carcass and you have to reach deep inside.
